Yongfeng Chemical Industrial Co., Ltd.'s factory in Xinzhuang was halted due to failure to meet PIC/S GMP standards, affecting the supply of large infusion liquid medicines. The FDA has distributed to a total of 174 medical institutions, with approximately 680,000 bottles/bags having arrived in Taiwan. To meet clinical demands, local qualified manufacturers have been increasing production, and special imports have been approved. By this week, about 880,000 bottles/bags of normal saline solution have been brought in, with 564,000 of them arriving this week. The FDA has established a mechanism for reporting drug shortages and has matched 724 cases out of 359 reports from hospitals and clinics. They have also set up functions for reporting demand for infusion liquid medicines to facilitate future distribution, urging institutions to avoid excessive or duplicate orders and unnecessary clinical use of such medicines.
