The US and Japan are holding their biennial 'Keen Sword' large-scale joint exercise, during which multiple fifth-generation fighters, including B-2 strategic bombers, performed formation flights to showcase advanced air combat capabilities. The exercise involves B-2 bombers from Missouri's Whiteman Air Force Base, two F-22 fighters forward deployed in the Western Pacific, and at least four F-35B fighters from the US Marine Corps conducting joint training in the North Pacific airspace, simulating anti-surface missions. This exercise aims to enhance interoperability across branches, enabling rapid deployment of US air forces to address any challenges in a time-sensitive manner.
