The US and 13 other nations in Asia and the Pacific have signed agreements on an economic pact crucial to Washington's regional influence strategy. The partners of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework signed the clean economy and fair economy agreements, focusing on renewable energy transition, climate change, taxation, and corruption issues. Led by US President Joe Biden to counter China's economic influence, the pact also aims to address supply-chain resilience. However, a final trade pillar deal is pending due to disagreements on digital commerce and labor rules.
