During an event in Washington, US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns stated that the cooperation between the US and China has not fully returned to its previous state, mainly attributing this change to the attitude shift in Chinese leadership, particularly under President Xi Jinping. Burns emphasized the importance of military dialogues between the two countries, highlighting the need for increased communication, especially in areas with disputed territories like the South China Sea, Taiwan Strait, and East China Sea. He also pointed out the negative impacts of China's support for Russia in the Ukraine conflict on US-China relations and stressed that China's predictions and actions have not aligned well with global democratic alliances.
