The US antitrust agencies, Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department, have agreed to investigate Microsoft's relationship with OpenAI and Nvidia's possible antitrust violations, while retaining oversight on Google. The FTC is probing if Microsoft failed to notify about its deal with Inflection AI, while the EU and UK's competition watchdogs have also looked into Microsoft's AI partnerships. The agencies decided on the investigations after more than six months of negotiations and will each have authority to investigate related deals and conduct.
