The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has ended its oversight of Bank of America, concluding a monitoring agreement related to allegations of inaccurate mortgage data reporting. This decision, made on June 4, comes over three years earlier than scheduled, after BofA had settled with a $12 million fine in 2023 without admitting wrongdoing, agreeing to oversight for five years, which has now been terminated due to the bank fulfilling its obligations.
