The leader of the US Third Fleet, serving as the exercise commander, emphasized that RIMPAC, which officially opened today, is not targeted at any specific country. When asked by TVBS about Taiwan not being invited this year, the commander cited the US's One-China policy, the Taiwan Relations Act, and the lack of invitation for China this year due to their failure to comply with international norms. The commander reiterated that the exercise does not single out any particular country, and redirected queries about Taiwan-US navy encounters and Chinese military provocations to the Indo-Pacific Command.
