A U.S. appeals court has revived a class action lawsuit against Meta Platforms, accusing the tech giant of preferring to hire foreign workers over American citizens to save costs. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the law barring discrimination in contracts extends to bias against U.S. citizens. The lawsuit was filed by a naturalized U.S. citizen who claims Meta discriminates against American workers in favor of cheaper visa recipients. The decision could lead to more lawsuits fighting discrimination against U.S. employees, especially in California and other states covered by the 9th Circuit.
