A US appeals court has set a fast-track schedule to hear challenges to a new law requiring China-based ByteDance to divest TikTok's US assets by January 19 or face a ban. The case is set for oral arguments in September after TikTok, ByteDance, and a group of TikTok content creators sought expedited proceedings. The law, aimed at national security concerns, prohibits app stores from offering TikTok unless ByteDance divests the platform. The legal briefs are due by June 20, with a ruling sought by December 6 to potentially be reviewed by the Supreme Court.
