Reported 12 months ago

According to a report by Defense One on June 28, the US Department of Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) has approved the participation of Rescale and Parallel Works in the High-Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) to directly support various military units through cloud supercomputing technologies. The HPCMP's technical director, Parsons, mentioned that with the connection to HPCMP, a regular laptop can transform into a supercomputer with tens of thousands of CPU cores, providing frontline personnel with easy access to high-performance computing. The Pentagon has invested over $550 million in the HPCMP project in the fiscal years 2023-2024 and is requesting an additional $250 million in the 2025 budget to further develop the US military's cloud computing capabilities.
