Analyst Patrick De Haan from GasBuddy indicates that U.S. gas prices could potentially fall below $3 per gallon for the first time since 2021, driven by seasonal decreases in oil demand and reduced forecasts from OPEC due to the economic slowdowns in China and Germany. As a result of decreasing oil prices, which have significantly dropped from recent highs, diesel prices have also reached their lowest levels since 2021. This decline in fuel costs comes at a crucial time as Americans approach Election Day, where gas prices are a significant concern for voters.
