The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating complaints of engine failures in approximately 1.4 million Honda and Acura vehicles, including models from 2016 to 2020. The probe focuses on the potential failure of connecting rod bearings in vehicles with 3.5-liter V6 engines, which has previously led to Honda recalling about 250,000 vehicles in 2023. The agency has received 173 complaints regarding issues not covered by the previous recall and is working with Honda to assess the scope and severity of the problem.
