Applications for US unemployment benefits have decreased to their lowest level in two months, with initial claims dropping by 9,000 to 215,000 for the week ending April 12. This decline indicates a stable labor market despite a slight increase in continuing claims to 1.89 million. Economists note that consistent claims suggest businesses have not yet increased layoffs in response to economic uncertainties. The four-week moving average also fell to 220,750, the lowest since mid-February.
