US lawsuit questions Southwest Airlines' free ticket program for Hispanic students

Reported 6 months ago

Southwest Airlines is facing a lawsuit filed by a group led by anti-affirmative action activist Edward Blum, alleging that the airline's free flight program for Hispanic students is racially discriminatory and violates federal civil rights laws by excluding non-Hispanic students. The lawsuit seeks to block Southwest from using its eligibility criteria for the program, which has provided over 1,500 students with free tickets since its launch in 2004.
