According to a report by the US Navy, the new generation air cushion landing craft (LCAC), also known as the Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC), is set to complete deployment preparations in September after a 4-year delay due to technical issues. The SSC, manufactured by Textron, features improved engines, advanced cockpit, and upgraded command, control, communication, digital, and navigation systems, enhancing amphibious operational capabilities for various mission requirements. The next-gen LCAC is expected to address both traditional and non-traditional security needs.
