Regarding the recent allegations against our country's US representative Yu Da-shin of embezzlement and allowing his wife to mistreat staff, the Foreign Ministry has responded. The allegations claim that since his arrival at the end of last year, Yu not only embezzled funds but also allowed his wife to mistreat employees, sparking controversy in the diplomatic circle. The Ministry's response clarified that the purchases made were to replace worn-out or damaged items and were in accordance with protocols and the need for official functions, adapting to inflation and rising costs in the US post-pandemic. The Ministry will continue to review and improve procurement standards at overseas missions in response to public feedback and expectations.
