On June 27, the US Navy conducted a rare cross-domain maritime and air joint fleet exercise in the Norwegian Sea, involving the nuclear-powered missile submarine 'USS Tennessee' (SSBN 734) and the E-6B 'Mercury' communication relay aircraft to showcase US strategic military superiority and deter Russian provocations. The exercise also included the Aegis cruiser 'USS Normandy' (CG 60) and a P-8A anti-submarine patrol aircraft, highlighting the US Navy's multi-domain combat readiness and ability to project forces and firepower in different theaters. The 'USS Tennessee' is the 9th Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, carrying up to 24 Trident II D5 submarine-launched ballistic missiles with the capability to strike targets up to 12,000 kilometers away, while the E-6B serves as a communication relay and guidance aircraft for nuclear orders, earning it the nickname 'Doomsday Plane.'
