The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear Meta's Facebook's appeal to dismiss a securities fraud lawsuit alleging the company misled investors about the misuse of user data in 2017 and 2018. The lawsuit, led by Amalgamated Bank, was filed after reports of data misuse by Cambridge Analytica. The case will be heard in the next term starting in October, following a lower court's decision to allow the lawsuit to proceed based on claims that Facebook made false statements about data privacy risks.
