During a legislative session on June 17, 2024, Minister of National Defense Chiu Kuo-cheng confirmed delays in the US arms sales to Taiwan worth $19 billion, stating that the US has promised to deliver all equipment by the end of the year. Chiu emphasized the importance of timely delivery and communication with the US. He also mentioned that the new F-16 (V Block 70/72) and TOW-2B anti-tank missiles are expected to be fully delivered by 2026 and by the end of this year, respectively. Apart from arms sales, Taiwan and the US have other means like FMF and PDA to enhance defense capabilities.
