USAA members, including loyal customer Curtis Murrah, are revealing stories of losing substantial amounts of money to fraud, with some experiencing unauthorized deposits and withdrawals in their accounts. Despite reporting the fraud to USAA, some members like Murrah were initially told no evidence was found, resulting in account closures. A Facebook group called USAA Fraud and Victims with 2,900 members also highlights cases where customers were asked to cover stolen funds. USAA has faced numerous complaints, fines, and security breaches in recent years, including a $140 million fine in 2022, showing a history of challenges with fraud prevention and reporting.
