Utilizing Blockchain to Expand the Market, Global Exchange on Carbon Pricing Begins with Singapore

The carbon pricing system is expected to officially launch at the end of 2024, Taiwan's Environmental Protection Administration plans to visit Singapore to study their operational model and visit sustainable development and environmental agencies, as well as the CIX carbon trading exchange. The investigation aims to learn from Singapore’s approach, which closely resembles Taiwan’s, in utilizing gradually increasing carbon taxes to strengthen the market and the use of blockchain technology in exchange operations. The legislative process for carbon pricing is ongoing, with the three laws on carbon fees expected to be finalized by August, emphasizing the importance of familiarity with the system for enterprises and officials to propose effective emission reduction plans in the future.
