Verizon Communications reported increased profit and revenue in the third quarter, with consumer revenue growth of 2.9%, yet experienced a loss of 7,000 postpaid phone customers. Despite business revenue declining by 2.8%, the telecommunications giant added significant broadband connections and saw wireless service revenue rise by 2.1%. The company, which appointed a new CEO earlier this month, remains optimistic about meeting its yearly targets amid stiff competition.
