Vice President Annette Lu, in her role as President-elect, expressed her desire for Taiwan to be included in the 'Security of Supply Arrangements' that the US is currently promoting, aiming to join the defense industrial cooperation between the US and its allies. American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director Sandra Oudkirk stated that Taiwan excels in advanced manufacturing and high-tech electronics and is poised to play a vital role. However, she emphasized that Taiwanese private companies must meet US requirements to be part of the US industrial base and supply chain. AIT held a press conference this morning, marking Oudkirk's final one in her role, where she reiterated the importance of meeting US standards for Taiwan to participate in the defense industry.
