In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, a Taiwanese tourist hired a private car at the airport to go to a hotel, but was stopped by police after a 15-minute drive due to the driver's violation. The driver then asked the tourist for a loan of 200,000 Vietnamese dong, equivalent to around 255 Taiwanese dollars, which the tourist refused, leading to the driver being detained by the police. Travel experts recommend booking private cars in Vietnam through Taiwanese travel websites for security, or using taxi-hailing apps for better assurance while traveling in unfamiliar places.
