In 2023, the Taiwanese authorities crack down on shops selling adulterated tea, temporarily curbing the illegal practice. However, recent reports reveal a resurgence of the issue, with influencers like 'Chao Ji Ba' and 'Miss Sibusi' suspected of resuming their illicit activities. Despite improvements in detecting adulterated tea, complaints suggest that some unscrupulous tea merchants are back at it, using cheaper Vietnamese tea to mix with high-priced Taiwanese tea. This practice confuses the market, impacts Taiwanese tea farmers' livelihoods, and prompts the government to launch cross-departmental raids to address the problem.
