The citizen-initiated recall case against Keelung Mayor Hsieh Guo-liang, organized by the civil group 'Mountain and Sea Citizen Dismantling Liang Action,' has surpassed the signature threshold of 20% in its second stage with around 40,000 received signatures. The KMT has questioned whether DPP Secretary-General Lin Yu-chang is behind this, possibly to counterbalance the recall of KMT-affiliated Keelung City Council Speaker Tong Tzu-wei. Political analysts suggest that rather than blaming the DPP for manipulation, KMT should focus on the governance failures and lack of leadership by Mayor Hsieh that led to the successful recall campaign, instead of attempting to shift the blame onto the DPP.
