Vine has been given permission to resume training after the accident.

Reported 4 months ago

Australian cyclist Jay Vine has been cleared to return to "gentle" training seven weeks after sustaining spinal injuries in a crash during the Tour of the Basque Country. Vine, who was initially feared to be paralyzed, expressed gratitude for being able to walk and play with his kids. Other riders involved in the incident included Jonas Vingegaard, who broke his collarbone and ribs. Vine will undergo focused rehabilitation to improve his posture on the bike and prevent neuromuscular atrophy, while Vingegaard, Primoz Roglic, and Remco Evenepoel are also recovering and aiming to be fit for the upcoming Tour de France.
