A violent conflict erupted on a Kaohsiung Metro train over the priority seat issue, where a 23-year-old man, identified as Li, sitting in the priority seat with his feet up and shaking his legs, was confronted by two older men for not giving up the seat for the elderly. Li, who has a history of physical and mental disabilities, later engaged in a physical altercation with the two men, leading to one of them forcefully hitting his head against the window. The incident rekindled the debate on priority seating, with witnesses stating that Li's lack of courtesy towards the elderly sparked the conflict. Following the clash, Li was brought to the hospital by the police, where he expressed regret for his actions.
