In a rare incident, a 7-year-old Sitatunga antelope named Lief at Brights Zoo in Tennessee died by choking on a plastic cap thrown into the enclosure by a visitor who brought in a squeezable food pouch. The zoo emphasized the dangers of such packaging for animals and warned against bringing them in. The zoo staff tried to save Lief but couldn't remove the plastic cap in time.
