Visitors driving up Hehuanshan Mountain during a night trip were caught illegally setting off high-altitude fireworks at the Kunyang Parking Lot, causing severe light pollution and posing a risk of forest fires. The action was condemned by the public. Police from the 9th Brigade of the 7th Guard Force identified the car owners through surveillance cameras and are preparing to fine them 1500 to 3000 NT dollars under the National Park Law. Hehuanshan, Taiwan's first internationally accredited dark sky park, was significantly affected by the fireworks, prompting further patrols to prevent similar incidents.
