Veteran Japanese voice actress Katsue Miwa, known for her roles in anime such as 'Yu-Gi-Oh!', 'Magical Emi', and 'One Piece', passed away at the age of 80 due to acute pulmonary embolism on June 19. Another voice actor from the same agency, Atsushi Ii, known for voicing the main character 'Kogoro Akechi' in 'Kindaichi Case Files', also passed away on June 26 due to cerebral hemorrhage. Meanwhile, another voice actor, Toru Furuya, faced controversy for allegedly having an affair with a 37-year-old fan, leading to work suspension and replacement of his role as Tooru Amuro in 'Detective Conan'.
