A volunteer ex-soldier referred to by his surname Dai, who served in the Army Artillery Training Command, turned into a spy three years after leaving the military, attempting to bribe two active-duty soldiers with substantial rewards for military secrets but was unsuccessful. Dai confessed to his crimes and was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months for developing an organization in violation of the National Security Law. His appeal was rejected, leading to a final verdict. The Supreme Court's ruling detailed Dai's recruitment by a Chinese intelligence agent named 'Baiwei' in Zhuhai in 2021, where he unsuccessfully tried to recruit active-duty soldiers in Taiwan to provide military intelligence.
