Volvo Cars' sales rise 13% in May boosted by electric vehicles

Volvo Cars reported a 13% increase in sales to 68,034 cars in May, with a 27% rise in Europe and success of the fully electric EX30 model. Sales of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles increased by 37%, accounting for 48% of global sales. Despite a 5% drop in the US and 1% in China, the Swedish company's aim to have electric vehicles make up 50% of sales by mid-decade and be all-electric by 2030 remains on track.
