Vopak, a global storage operator, announced plans to expand its joint-venture terminal in Thailand to accommodate U.S. ethane imports for PTT Global Chemical starting in 2029. This expansion involves constructing 160,000 cubic meters of tank storage at Map Ta Phut and is part of a larger investment strategy of €130 million over four years. The move aligns with the growing demand for cheaper U.S. ethane among Asian petrochemical firms aiming to diversify their raw material sources.
