Walmart Shareholders Challenge DEI Policy Changes

Reported about 9 hours ago

Walmart shareholders are pushing back against the company's recent decision to cut its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, which includes withdrawing from the Human Rights Campaign survey and reviewing funding for Pride events. Over 30 shareholders managing $266 billion in assets have expressed their discontent in a letter to CEO Doug McMillon, arguing that the decision undermines Walmart's commitment to marginalized groups and urging the company to resist political pressure. This comes as the retailer's competitor, Costco, defends its own DEI policies.
