On June 16, 2024, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) held 'Anti-Abuse of Power, Defend Democracy' events in various cities in Taiwan. Legislator Wang Shijian called for the Kuomintang (KMT) to directly propose overthrowing the cabinet to facilitate dissolving the parliament and allowing for a comprehensive re-election of the Legislative Yuan, aiming to avoid daily arguments and chaos. Meanwhile, Legislator Hsu Chih-chieh in Kaohsiung expressed the need to recall legislators due to abuse of power, aiming to recall at least 10 legislators next year. The DPP events featured various party members and aimed to address issues of misbehavior within the legislative body.
