Wang Yichuan Responds to Lin Tou's Proposal to Remove Fang Chih-Wei: Jokingly Reveals Consequences: Not Listening in Keelung

Reported 12 months ago

On June 29, 2024, around 8:25 am, Wang Yichuan criticized Lin Tou for not inquiring about the situation. Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang faced a recall petition which has now passed the second-stage threshold. Lin Tou of the Kuomintang Party hinted at a potential move to recall Keelung City Council Speaker Tong Zi-Wei if Xie Guoliang's recall goes through, but Wang Yichuan pointed out that Lin had not investigated properly. Despite Tong maintaining a neutral stance and not engaging in divisive actions, Lin's intentions could provoke Tong. Wang joked that with just a word from Tong, Xie could fall. Wang emphasized that Lin had not gathered intelligence properly, as the DPP does not hold a majority in the Keelung City Council despite Tong's ability to secure the role of council speaker. Tong's potential dissatisfaction could spell trouble for Xie. Wang's remarks were made on the TV program '54 Jury'.
