Barry Bonds was emotional upon learning of his induction into the Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The announcement was made before a game against the Giants, where Bonds had also played. Bonds expressed gratitude for his time in Pittsburgh, where he began his career and built strong bonds with the team and manager Jim Leyland. Despite not being elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Bonds was moved by the recognition from the Pirates organization, where he played a significant role in the 1990s.
