The front is over the northern Taiwan Strait today (9th), with Taiwan on the front edge and a gradually strengthening southwest wind bringing moisture, leading to occasional brief showers or thunderstorms in central and southern areas. WeatherRisk meteorologist Wu Shengyu warns of afternoon convective thunderstorms in Greater Taipei, eastern Taiwan, and mountainous areas, with some chances of heavy rain. Wu states that the weather pattern will continue to change with rainfall mainly at night and early tomorrow in central and southern regions, and high temperatures reaching up to 30-32 degrees Celsius. Looking ahead, the front is expected to linger in the north until the 17th to 18th, with the possibility of the plum rains withdrawing as the high pressure strengthens. Tomorrow (10th) is forecasted to have similar weather, with rain expected in the central and southern regions, and a chance of heavy rain in central and southern mountains and showers in other regions.
