Water Truck Rear-ends Pedestrian! Woman from Sanchong Goes to Longshan Temple to Pray, Children Report her Missing Only to Discover Mother was Run Over

A fatal traffic accident occurred in Wanhua District, Taipei City, where a 61-year-old driver named Wang accidentally hit and killed a 73-year-old woman named Chen while making a right turn at the intersection of Kangding Road and Neijiang Street. Investigation revealed that Chen, who lived in Sanchong, New Taipei City, was on her way to Longshan Temple but tragically got run over as she mistakenly alighted at Ximending Station. Despite being conscious when rescued, Chen succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to National Taiwan University Hospital. The driver, Wang, was found with a blood alcohol level of 0.11mg and is facing charges of negligent homicide and endangering public safety. Chen's identity was confirmed only after her children reported her missing to the police, realizing she was the victim. Surveillance footage showed Chen's unfortunate detour and subsequent tragic accident.
