The Hinduja family, British billionaires with a fortune of 370 billion pounds (~1.5 trillion NTD), were convicted by a Swiss court for exploiting Indian migrant workers, making them work 16 to 18 hours a day for a meager daily wage of 7 pounds (~290 NTD), much lower than Switzerland's minimum wage. The workers' passports were confiscated, their freedom restricted, and living conditions deplorable. The family members were sentenced to 4 to 4.5 years in prison and ordered to compensate ~3 million NTD, with their lawyer planning to appeal the verdict.
