On June 28, 2024, in New Taipei, heavy afternoon rain led to flooding in multiple areas, making roads temporarily impassable. Afternoon thunderstorms in Sanxia caused road flooding and a small landslide in the Wuliao area. Emergency services evacuated 9 people temporarily, but fortunately, there were no casualties. The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain warning for 10 areas, including Taipei, Taoyuan, and New Taipei, until 16:45. Due to the heavy rain, areas like Zhonghe and Tucheng in New Taipei experienced road flooding, leading to road closures. As the rain subsided, most of the flooding receded, but the bureau advised continued caution against thunderstorms and flooding until 16:45.
