The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain alert affecting 12 areas including New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Yilan County, and Hualien County. Due to active convection, short periods of heavy rain are expected in certain mountainous regions. Residents are advised to be cautious of thunderstorms, strong gusts, landslides, and rockfall. The weather across Taiwan will be characterized by afternoon thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius during the day and 23 to 26 degrees Celsius at night. Safety measures are urged especially in soft-soil mountain areas prone to landslides and falling rocks.
