According to Wu Derong from SET News, recent observations indicate scattered showers and thunderstorms in northern and central Taiwan. The weather is expected to be clear and hot over Taiwan with temperatures reaching around 37 degrees Celsius on the weekend, prompting caution against sunburn and heatstroke. Afternoons may bring convective development near mountainous areas, extending northwards to potentially bring localized showers or thunderstorms to nearby flatlands and northern Taiwan. Temperatures for the day range from 23 to 37 degrees Celsius in different regions. The following week may see a slight increase in humidity affecting the weather, especially in the afternoons. Although a tropical disturbance in the South China Sea might develop into a tropical depression, the likelihood of it becoming a typhoon is low. The disturbance’s simulated path suggests movement towards northern Vietnam and Guangxi. Overall, the influence of the Pacific high pressure ridge will continue to bring hot temperatures during the week with the possibility of brief, localized showers or thunderstorms near mountainous areas in the afternoons.
