In an exclusive report on July 2, 2024, at 5:55 am, to welcome the peak summer travel season, Taichung City Government's Digital Governance Bureau added free Wi-Fi hotspots under the brand iTaichung at the popular new spot 'Xibin Da'an Rest Stop,' offering free internet access to citizens and travelers. Additional hotspots were also set up at Da'an Elementary School and Da'an Junior High School to facilitate students' usage in the Da'an area. These initiatives were launched in the presence of local dignitaries, including Lin Gulong, the head of the Digital Governance Bureau. With the optimization by the Bureau, the usage of iTaichung has reached 4.07 million users in 2023, showing a 16.7% annual growth. The aim is to make Taichung a more livable and convenient city for residents and visitors.
