The cinema confirmed that it is due to the lease ending on 8/31 and not being renewed. This closure marks the end of an 18-year establishment that has been a significant part of the Ximending movie-watching experience for many, with Showtime Group planning to open a flagship cinema in Taipei next year amidst the impact of changing viewing habits and the rise of OTT platforms.
