West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá has been charged by the English Football Association for allegedly breaching betting rules in relation to four matches during his first two seasons with the club. The charges accuse Paquetá of attempting to influence the outcome of matches by seeking to receive a card from the referee in order to affect the betting market. Paquetá denies the charges and has until June 3 to respond formally. West Ham has expressed support for the player throughout the process.
