Westgate Mall Businesses Thriving but East District Suffers, Experts Suggest Waiting for Taipei Dome to Save the Day

Reported 12 months ago

According to the 3Q report released by Savills Taiwan, the vacancy rates in Taipei's western and central business districts are steadily decreasing, while the eastern district continues to rise. Westgate Mall's vacancy rate has been declining for 8 consecutive seasons, with rent showing signs of increase, while the Nanjing business district has returned to pre-pandemic levels. However, the eastern district's vacancy rate is still on the rise, with hopes pinned on the Taipei Dome to bring relief. The opening of the 'Far Eastern Garden City' food court in the area might inject some life back into the district, but the overall situation remains to be seen.
