Wet and Hot Dragon Boat Festival Holiday in Taiwan! Afternoon Thunderstorms Across the Island, Monsoon Front to Move Away Next Weekend

Reported 10 months ago

Weather risk company meteorology manager Wu Shengyu stated on the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday today, regions in central and southern Taiwan have a high chance of rainfall, with the likelihood of afternoon thunderstorms in mountainous areas, as well as in the northern and eastern parts of the island. The weather will remain unstable due to the southwest wind bringing more moisture, and while the front system activities are positioned more northward and not directly impacting Taiwan, there are still possibilities of sporadic heavy thunderstorms, especially in mountainous areas and the northern and eastern regions. Temperatures may exceed 30 degrees Celsius in some areas today, with a chance of even higher temperatures in the south. The monsoon front is expected to continue bringing intermittent showers or thunderstorms to the central and southern parts of the island over the next few days.
