Turtle Island, one of Taiwan's 3 major fishing grounds, not only boasts abundant fish but is also a hot spot for whales and dolphins, including Spinner Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, and Risso's Dolphins. The best time to spot marine life on Turtle Island is from April to the end of September. Dolphin watching is best from 5 am to noon, while whale watching is recommended from noon to 3 pm. Transportation to Turtle Island from Wushi Harbor in Yilan can be easily accessed by car or public transport, offering the opportunity to witness various dolphin and whale species in their natural habitat.
